Do Trans Women Have Orgasms

Do Trans Women Have Orgasms?

The details of trans women’s sexual lives are often not discussed as much as cisgender people’s experiences.

This means a lot of people do not have the necessary information, especially regarding what to expect during HRT or after undergoing gender reassignment surgery.

It also leads to a lot of speculation regarding what trans women experience, or are able to experience, in their sexual lives.

So, do trans women have orgasms? In this article, we’re going to be discussing exactly that.

We will also look at whether this is possible during transition or after bottom surgery and whether trans women can have multiple orgasms.

Can Transgender Women Have Orgasms?

Yes, they can.

It does not matter in which stage of transitioning a trans woman finds herself, most trans females reported that they were able to achieve orgasm.

In fact, this has been reported during all phases of transitioning, from hormone therapy to after surgery.

There are many misconceptions regarding trans women and their orgasms, probably because many women often don’t discuss what happens when you orgasm as a female.

For example, some women go their whole lives wondering “do women ejaculate during orgasm?” without ever trying it for themselves.

It is no wonder then that trans women are equally left in the dark regarding what to expect from their orgasms after transitioning.

So, before we delve into the subject of trans women’s orgasms, we need to look at the journey of trans females and the orgasms associated with each phase.

If you are transitioning, the nature of your orgasms may start to shift once you start hormone therapy.

This is because hormone therapy involves the introduction of additional estrogen, which has a variety of effects on the genitals and the associated experience of intercourse and masturbation.

During hormone therapy, a trans woman will experience fewer erections and may even have erectile dysfunction.

Their testicles will also shrink to about half their size within the first 6 months.

Ejaculation also changes to a small amount of clear or white liquid or no liquid at all. But this doesn’t mean orgasms will stop.

It’s not like women can squirt without an orgasm, apart from a few exceptions.

This is also supported by research suggesting that people undergoing hormone therapy are still capable of experiencing orgasms.

But, this is not without its pitfalls. Trans women have reported that it took them longer to achieve orgasm while on hormone therapy, with an average increase of 7 minutes in the time it takes to achieve orgasm.

This usually happens about 7 months into hormone therapy.

It should be noted that some trans women undergoing hormone therapy did report that their orgasms felt slightly different when they experienced them.

Most notably, they report that they experienced an orgasm that is more “full-bodied” and less focused on the genital area, which is more or less what it feels like to orgasm as a woman.

This is often associated with experiencing pleasure in a variety of other areas, such as the nipples when achieving orgasm.

Many trans ladies also reported that they felt more turned on by sensual stimuli as opposed to explicit sexual content such as pornography.

In many cases, hormone therapy has also led to an increase in sexual impulse control and a more calm and controlled approach to sex and sexuality overall.

It has also been reported that trans women’s orgasms increased in both duration and intensity during hormone therapy.

Some trans women also choose to fully transition medically, which means undergoing surgery. The good news is that many of them can still experience orgasm after they have recovered.

While someone that has newly transitioned might not know how long it takes a woman to reach orgasm or how long the female orgasm lasts and need to rediscover how their body works, at least there is comfort in knowing that orgasm is completely within reach.

Some trans women may choose to transition socially but not medically and others may do it the other way around.

Some people can’t afford surgery and will stick to hormone therapy.

Whatever the case may be, if you are a trans woman or know someone who is, chances are they’re able to experience and enjoy all the benefits of the female orgasm, either through masturbation or intercourse.

That being said, while HRT is safe and its effects are relatively well-researched, everybody is different. It might affect you differently, even when it comes to common changes. If you have any concerns, it’s always best to check with your doctor.

Can Trans Women Orgasm After Bottom Surgery?

Yes, trans women can achieve orgasm after bottom surgery.

Simply put, bottom surgery is any surgery that involves transforming male genitalia into female genitalia.

It is also sometimes referred to as “transfeminine bottom surgery” or “feminizing genital surgery”.

Many people who are aware of these procedures often wonder whether the patient undergoing them will ever be able to achieve orgasm again. Perhaps you are wondering “can women cum without orgasming?”

There is also speculation about the nature of orgasm after bottom surgery. For example, do trans ladies experience the same refractory period between women’s orgasms?

The good news is that most patients will be able to experience orgasm, even after having surgery. This has been supported by a study that tested people’s experience of orgasms post-surgery.

But does this depend on the type of surgery? For trans females wanting to medically transition, there are three options for surgery: an orchidectomy, vaginoplasty, or a vulvoplasty.

Orgasms After an Orchidectomy

An orchidectomy involves the removal of the testicles, which can be done on its own or in conjunction with one of the other two procedures.

This is the most minimally invasive of all the procedures and since it does not involve the creation of the vagina, still allows a trans female to orgasm as before.

People are still able to get erections and orgasms after an orchidectomy.

Sometimes, some of the nerves controlling ejaculation may become damaged during the procedure which may result in a dry orgasm, or orgasm without ejaculation.

Orgasms After a Vaginoplasty

Vaginoplasty is the procedure of removing the penis, testicles, and scrotum and creating a labia, clitoris (using a portion of the penis), and the vaginal canal.

After surgery, there are rigorous post-treatment care procedures trans females must undergo until they are ready for sex, including dilation.

Dilation is the process of inserting a stent into the vagina for periods to ensure that it maintains its depth and width.

Even adhering to this regime does not guarantee that a trans woman’s new sexual body part may be as malleable as a cisgender woman’s but orgasm is still possible.

Most trans ladies need to fully recover and get acquainted with their new body parts before attempting to orgasm.

Because the clitoris is often built up from the highly sensitive part at the tip of the penis, this area is key for arousal and achieving orgasm.

But, many experts and members of the trans community encourage people who have undergone bottom surgery to reach out to fellow members of the trans community and sex therapists for the best advice on how to navigate their new sexual experiences.

Orgasms After a Vulvoplasty

Because vaginoplasty requires a lot of post-treatment care and can be too invasive for some, some trans women opt for a vulvoplasty.

This is essentially the same as a vaginoplasty but no vaginal canal is created.

During a vulvoplasty, a vulva is created, which includes the mons pubis, urethral opening, and clitoris. Because a clitoris is created, this will be the key factor in achieving arousal and orgasm.

People who undergo a vulvoplasty cannot be the recipient of vaginal penetration since there is no vaginal canal.

For some, this is no issue as they can still orgasm but for others, this is the very reason why they opt for a vaginoplasty.

It doesn’t matter which of the above procedures a trans woman opts for, she will still be able to experience orgasm after the recovery period.

Can Trans Women Have Multiple Orgasms?

Yes, this is possible.

The idea of multiple orgasms in females is an elusive topic and this is no less true in discussions on trans female sexuality.

But the fact is, trans women are capable of experiencing a variety of orgasms.

This is especially true after surgery when trans women’s genitalia closely mimic that of their cisgender counterparts.

Pre-op trans women, or those who undergo hormone therapy, may also achieve multiple orgasms but it may take a little longer to figure out the logistics.

During hormone therapy, or with any other measure that leads to an increase in estrogen, more trans women have found that they were capable of achieving multiple orgasms.

But, this takes some getting used to, as this type of therapy is often associated with erectile dysfunction.

For most trans ladies, the mental shift from having sex or masturbating with a flaccid penis is the hardest part.

But, there are many helpful tips and tricks to make this process less intimidating.

And all of them are capable of leading to multiple orgasms.

Let’s find out what they are.

Having Multiple Orgasms Through Penis Stimulation

Many trans women report sensitivity in newfound zones after starting hormone therapy and that the stimulation of the penis responds better to milder stimulation at first.

For this reason, some keep their underwear on during masturbation.

In general, combining the stimulation of an “up-and-down” motion combined with the stimulation of the head of the penis has led to orgasms and even multiple orgasms.

Experiencing Multiple Orgasms Through “Muffing”

There is also another technique known as “muffing”, which has been proposed as a way for trans females to experience a pleasure.

This involves stimulating the inguinal canals or the internal pockets of the testes.

It is all about listening to your body and seeing what works to achieve the type of arousal and pleasure that can lead to multiple orgasms.

For post-op trans women, it may be slightly easier to achieve multiple orgasms as the process more closely mimics that of cisgender women.

The secret is to experiment with a variety of stimulation points in the body.

Reaching Multiple Orgasms Through Clitoral Stimulation

It may take a while for a trans woman to figure out what she prefers, but most experience pleasure from both vaginal penetration and clitoral stimulation.

Clitoral stimulation, especially in conjunction with sex toys, can lead to an intense orgasm.

If this spot is continually stimulated, this may result in more than one orgasm. This can be an appropriate method of stimulation for trans females who have had vulvoplasty or vaginoplasty

For those who have undergone vaginoplasty, sexual penetration also comes into play.

This will mimic the penetration of a cisgender female and may produce similar sensations in the body.

For those who had surgery but have no vaginal canal, sexual stimulation can be enhanced by anal stimulation, especially of the prostate which is accessed through the anal wall.

Many trans females are also proponents of the stimulation of the perineum as another way to enhance arousal and orgasm.

Achieving Multiple Orgasms Through A-Spot Stimulation

For both cisgender and trans women, a-spot stimulation is a good way to achieve multiple orgasms.

This involves anal stimulation and this area does not sensitize after orgasm, which means the tension can continue to build and more easily lead to multiple orgasms.

But some people do not prefer this type of stimulation, both in the cisgender and trans communities.

Of course, any trans female must also experiment with nipple play and other erogenous zones, such as the neck and ears.

There are many powerful pleasure centers in the female body and it is the duty of any woman, whether they had bottom surgery or not, to play around with what feels good.

Conclusion

If you are in the process of transitioning or know someone who is, you don’t need to worry that they won’t be able to experience satisfying sexual sensations such as orgasm and arousal.

Yes, the process may differ slightly depending on where you are in your trans journey, but it does not

have to be overwhelming or scary.

At the end of the day, being a trans woman only means you get to experience more of what the female body has to offer, including full-bodied orgasms.
